X-band CW-ESR spectrometer

Description

CW-ESR (continuous-wave electron spin resonance) uses free radicals as an external probe to study for example various aspects of longevity in seeds. These measurements can be combined with (MAS)NMR and MRI studies to study e.g. lipid oxidation, redox state by spin label reduction, membrane phase characteristics.

Complementary Techniques

This equipment is part of the MAGNEtic resonance research FacilitY (MAGNEFY). Magnefy is a rare and unique NMR facility. It offers user access to various NMR, MRI and ESR spectrometers (ranging from low to high magnetic fields, including imaging, solid state (MAS) and liquid state NMR), with applications ranging from molecular, cells and organisms suspensions to complex foods and intact plant level.
